DUTCH FOOD – TYPICAL DUTCH MEALS

Do you want to know about Dutch food or Dutch cuisine to understand why Dutch people are so tall? Let’s read or watch our video on YouTube.

  1. Typical Dutch breakfast: People in the Netherlands tent to eat certain breakfast that can not be commonly found on the table anywhere else. We eat bread with butter and a variety of ingredients: hagelslag, ontbijtkoek, kokosbrood, boter, brood, applestroop, gestampte muisjes, vruchten hagel, pindakaas. We eat sandwich with sweet things and drink tea (thee). In the Netherlands, all kids drink Vitamin D (10 drops) everyday at least until they are 4 years old. We eat apple everyday in the morning.
  2. Typical Dutch lunch: brood, kaas, worst. We eat sandwich (boterham) with cheese, meat like sausage or ham, omelette and drink milk (melk). Dutch people bring their lunch box if they go to school or go to work.

Special information to explain  why Dutch people are tall: We usually ride the bicycle to work, we love swimming, all kids here must ride the bicycle and swim well.

  1. Typical Dutch dinner: We cook only for dinner. Dutch people eat potato (aardappel): boiled or mashed potato, vegetables (groenten) and meat (vlees) or fish (vis). Simple and functional! You should try Stamppot. A tip from us: we should not eat potato with tomato; as well as cucumber with tomato. We talk to each other, share what happened during our day. Then we eat typical Dutch dessert: Vla (custard) which is made from cow’s milk and thickerners.

** Typical Dutch snack: bitterballen, friet, kroket, patat, frikandel, haring. Try drop, stropwafel.

To eat with family is the most beautiful time, we hope to show youreal Dutch culture about eating. We wish all of you to have delicious meal with family! NO PLACE IS BETTER THAN HOME!
